about me
education
I am a graduate of Goshen College (IN) with a BA in Music Education, concentrating in voice and piano. While a student at Goshen College, I sang a variety of challenging repertoire in GC's Chamber Choir (Rachmaninoff Vespers, Spem In Alium) while having opportunities to work and perform with such musicians as Vance George, Bobby McFerrin, and Garrison Keillor. While giving recitals in piano and voice to complete my degree, I performed lead roles in musicals including "Godspell 2012" (Jesus) and "Pirates of Penzance" (Frederic). I performed in several senior vocal recitals and sang chamber works such as Vaughan Williams’ 4 Hymns for Tenor, Viola, and Piano. See my resume for a complete list of performed roles and repertoire.
teaching career
I spent 5 years working as a choir director and show choir director at Fairfield Jr/ Sr High School in Goshen, IN. I also fulfilled their assistant musical director role, helping with pit direction, lighting, sound, and dramatic direction in musicals (Seussical, Joseph & The Technicolor Dreamcoat, Mamma Mia).
performing
I enjoy applying my singing abilities in my community, and currently sing with Camerata Singers (thecameratasingers.org). I've performed soloist roles for works like Handel's Messiah with both Goshen Community Chorale and the most recent Goshen Messiah Hymn Sing. I continue to be a part of musical theater productions, most recently in "Ordinary Days" (Jason) in 2023. I frequent as a pit musician on bass & piano for area musical productions.
I live in Goshen, IN with my wife, Lydia. We enjoy the outdoors and taking trips together, binge watching TV shows, karaoke in the car, seeing live concerts and musicals, and cherishing time with our friends and family.
